Legacy of Kain: Defiance Description
Legacy of Kain: Defiance is the fifth installment in the popular saga that began in 1996 on PlayStation. The game combines the elements from Blood Omen and Soul Reaver – two spin-off series in Legacy of Kain franchise. The story is designed in a way that accommodates both the veterans and the newcomers.
The two protagonists are Kain and Raziel, probably the most famous vampires in the history of digital entertainment. Both have their very own legendary swords and a dozen skills for defense and offense (sucking blood, spirit eating, telekinesis, taking over enemies’ bodies, etc.). Moreover, there is an option of combining all physical attack into deadly and effective combos, which gives us an advantage over the hordes of terrifying opponents. Another danger is posed by dangerous traps (such as pitfalls), although they can also be used to our advantage if we lure our enemies to their doom.
Generally, the gameplay is designed to provide fast-paced action and adventure themes, but the emphasis is definitely put on dynamic combat sequences. There’s also a lot of puzzles to solve and the gothic atmosphere characteristic of Legacy of Kain. The on-screen events are observed throught an adjustable TPP (third-person perspective) camera.
