Kriegsfront Tactics is a tactical turn-based strategy with roguelike elements. It was developed by an independent team Toge Productions.

Plot

The action of Kriegsfront Tactics takes place in the alternative version of the 1970s, during a fictional conflict in Southeast Asia. We take on the role of a commander, whose mech squad landed behind enemy lines. In order to survive, we have to follow orders, make difficult decisions and take care of our subordinates.

Game mechanics

In Kriegsfront Tactics we observe the action from the top-down view. The gameplay takes place on vast maps, on which we move our squad and perform various tasks. Achieving the mission's goals is usually connected with the necessity to fight with the enemy forces. Battles take place in turn-based mode, and during them the proper placement of mechs is most important. While working out the tactics we should take into account the topography of the terrain, location of obstacles (natural or artificial), as well as combat capabilities of individual machines. Mechs equipped with machine guns perform differently on the battlefield than those equipped with rocket launchers or mortars.

As we progress we have the opportunity to recruit new squad members, each of whom has an individual set of useful skills. The game allows us to modify mechs on a large scale. We can decide on their appearance (by choosing the appropriate paint) and armament (by freely replacing or removing individual parts).
