Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel

Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel is an arena-survival type of production, which allows placing it in one line with such positions as Vampire Survivors or even Halls of Torment. The production is the fruit of cooperation between Slovak studios Games Farm (known for Shadows: Awakening or Vikings: Wolves of Midgard) and ARTillery (authors of Catie in MeowmeowLand).

The plot of

Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel takes us to the Nine Worlds from Norse mythology. In the course of the game, we play as cursed characters who decide to face divine pr?bts. The stakes are high, as coming out of these tests unscathed, they will be hailed as the titular slayers of the Jotun?s (ice giants).

Gameplay

Gameplay in Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel begins with the selection of a hero or heroine, who are differentiated in terms of preferred weapons, available abilities and fighting style. The game puts at our disposal characters who fight melee, eliminate enemies at a distance and use magic.

The gameplay is shown in isometric view, and involves fighting hordes of enemies in vast arenas, where we can move freely. The latter is important, as being in constant motion is one of the keys to victory here. Adversaries have an overwhelming numerical advantage over us, so in order to survive we have to do our best not to let them drive us into a corner. In addition, on the battlefield you have to constantly attack and juggle available skills, as well as efficiently use elements of the environment.

The game is varied by occasional clashes with bosses. In addition, there are tasks waiting to be completed that involve completing specific objectives or facing additional obstacles. Although death on the battlefield means the necessity to start over, as we progress we develop our character and unlock divine blessings that provide us with various benefits, abilities and improvements, thanks to which the next approaches may turn out to be slightly easier than the previous ones.
