Another of the mobile versions of the popular Joe Danger series. This time both our hero and the game world have undergone a lot of miniaturization. During the game we take part in crazy toy races taking place in different rooms of a detached house.
Joe Danger Infinity is the next, after Joe Danger Touch, mobile installment of the popular arcade game series, launched in 2010 on PlayStation 3. The title was created exclusively for iOS smartphones and tablets, and its development is again the responsibility of the original devs from the British studio Hello Games.
Story
The main character of the game remains the stuntman Joe Danger, known from the previous installment of the series. This time both he and the whole game world have undergone considerable miniaturization. In Joe Danger Infinity, the protagonist is one of the toys belonging to a child living in a large single-family house. In the absence of their parents, the child hosts a competition in which Joe and other toy drivers race on imagined tracks filled with a variety of obstacles.
Mechanics
In terms of mechanics, Joe Danger Infinity does not differ significantly from Joe Danger Touch released about a year earlier. We watch the game in a slightly isometric view from the side, and the whole game consists of overcoming successive obstacle tracks, which, unlike their predecessor, have been transferred from the real world to the world of toys. The floors of successive rooms of the house, filled with a whole mass of furniture, decorations, and other objects, have become the areas of the struggle.
The gameplay combines elements of a racing game and endless runner platformer. While playing, the character rushes automatically along the marked track, with no possibility of turning left or right, and our task is to avoid obstacles along the way by performing maneuvers such as jumps, slides or other scored tricks. In the original version of the game, there are more than 25 characters and 20 different vehicles, among which, besides the motorcycle, there is also a car, a tank, a remote-controlled helicopter or rocket-firework. These elements are unlocked gradually as we make progress, using the coins collected during the races.
Game modes
Joe Danger Infinity is an extremely rich game in terms of content. In addition to hundreds of varied and endless obstacle courses, the players will find here a whole lot of additional challenges and even duels with bosses. There is also an element of competition, such as online rankings introducing the possibility of comparing one's achievements with the results of other players.
Technical aspects
Joe Danger Infinity features fully three-dimensional and extremely colorful graphics that, despite being trasferred to the toy world, has retained the style of the previous installments of the series. The game also uses the proven intuitive controls model.
