Jewels of the Tropical Lost Island Description
Jewels of the Tropical Lost Island is City Interactive's response to the popular Bejeweled style game. Unlike many competing productions, the creators decided to enrich the match-3 puzzles with an interesting story.
The main character of Jewels of the Tropical Lost Island is the heir to the magnificent sailing ship. From notes left by his deceased uncle, he learns that his relative was a partner of the legendary pirate, Blue Beard (Bluebeard). Together they plundered many ships and hid their wealth on the Caribbean island. With a corsair map at his disposal, the young man sets off on a dangerous expedition. Soon it turns out that he is not the only one who tries to find a treasure.
As befits a match-3 game, the basis of the game are puzzles. The creators have prepared a total of more than 100 boards of varying degrees of difficulty. The player has to adjust the elements in such a way that at least three with identical symbols are placed next to each other in a vertical or horizontal line, which eliminates them. The fact that some combinations have specific effects is an additional complication. For example, in a duel with other pirates, matching bombs deals damage to an enemy ship, and buckets of water allow you to regain some of your lost "endurance".
The gameplay is designed for the technical capabilities of the Nintendo DS console, including two device displays. On the top screen are presented events in the game, and on the bottom screen are presented puzzle boards and a map. The player can control with traditional buttons or with the use of a stylus.
Jewels of the Tropical Lost Island is distinguished by its refined audiovisual layer. Maintained in vivid colors, 2D cartoon graphics has been enriched with simple animations. The pirate atmosphere of the game is well matched by the dynamic background music.
