Jam Sessions 2 is the second installment in the music game series that lets you play the virtual guitar. The aim of the developers, i.e. Plato company, is to help players get used to this instrument. The game uses touch panel of DS console to displaying virtual strings. Key combinations on D-pad stand for chords. This way the player can grab practically all chords.
The game offers reach selection of songs, which stand for consecutive stages in learning how to play the guitar, as well as to compose your own songs. The soundtrack includes songs by such artists as: REM, Heart, The Ramones, The Clash, Doobie Brothers, Plain White-T's, The Black Crowes, and Pixies. By getting through chapters from the in-game music book, players learn techniques useful for bringing up their musical talents. You also get to know several types of guitars (Stratocaster, Telecaster, Acoustic, Old Electric & Les Paul).
You can use your creative talents to compose, play, record, and share your own music with others. One of the innovations in this part of the series is the ability to change particular fragments of a song and easily create your own playable game levels. Moreover, the gameplay is enriched by a variety of musical mini-games. The game’s artwork consists of very simple, but clear boards and screens.
