Platform puzzle game, focused on exploring the terrain and solving puzzles related to manipulating elements of the environment. By controlling a metal sphere that has fallen from the sky, the player crosses an island where puzzling steel and glass constructions have been erected. The title was produced by the independent studio Impromptu Games.
InFlux is the first full-length production by the independent Australian studio Impromptu Games, which was previously famous for its modification of Shotgun Sunrise for Half-Life 2 shooting. The production was created with the financial support of the Film Victoria cultural fund and is addressed to fans of relaxing logic games.
The game has no story. The action was set on an undefined island, on which a small metal sphere fell. The player-controlled luminous object takes place in an area mainly built up by cubic steel and glass constructions. Each building of this type hides a riddle.
The game focuses on exploring the terrain and puzzles requiring manipulation of elements of the environment. The metal sphere is equipped with several skills, which make it easier to overcome obstacles and get to places that are difficult to reach (e.g. rapid acceleration, knocking up, repulsion of objects, penetration through matter).
The developers of InFlux have created a simple control system using a traditional mouse and keyboard of a computer or gamepad. Noteworthy is the visual setting with 3D graphics made with the use of cel-shading technology. The musical path for the game was composed by Jonathan Yandel.
