I See Red

Mechanics

In I See Red we observe the action in isometric view. The game title refers to the way the protagonist perceives the world. Enemies, bullets, blood and objects with which we can interact, shine red, while the rest of the elements of graphic design is kept in monochrome. This is meant to reflect the blindness of the protagonist, for whom nothing matters except the desire for revenge against his tormentor.

During the game we travel through the galaxy on board of our small ship. After encountering another ship we can enter its deck to make a real slaughter there. On our way there are units that belong to both humans, aliens and robots. We kill our enemies by using firearms, as well as various gadgets and combat skills. Besides, one of the hero's arms can be used as a rope with a hook, with the help of which he can, among other things, pull smaller objects and enemies to himself. The environment is also susceptible to destruction; nothing stands in the way of destroying the shields behind which opponents hide. Additionally, inflicting damage to adversaries, as well as taking it ourselves, we charge the fury gauge, which activation for a moment turns our outlaw into an even more effective killing machine.

As we progress we develop the protagonist, unlocking new skills and gaining more powerful equipment. Thanks to that with time we can face more and more challenges. Due to the fact that it is easy to die here, it is worth remembering that after starting the game again the arrangement of rooms and corridors on the decks changes.

Technical aspects

Graphics of I See Red is in cartoon style, dominated by red and shades of gray. We can listen to the soundtrack which is constantly adapting to the events on the screen.
