Arcade, aerial shooting with a third person view (TPP). The player plays the role of the pilot of the squadron of futuristic jet fighters, which are the last line of defence for the forces of democracy. GameCrafterTeam's production is focused on dynamic air clashes with the possibility of playing in the team competition mode via the Internet.
HyperSonic 4 is the fourth installment of GameCrafterTeam's low-budget air shooters cycle. Like previous games in the series, the production is addressed to players who like dynamic air battles, but at the same time do not expect stunning graphics or realistic flight experience with a jet fighter.
The action of the game takes place in the near future. Democracy in the world is under threat from forces with advanced military technology. The last chance to defeat the enemy is a squadron of pilots, who with their skills and combat experience are able to win in confrontation with better armed opponents.
The main campaign in HyperSonic 4 consists of eight feature-linked scripts. The player's task is to carry out commissioned missions (orders), most of which are based on air fights and destruction of ground or surface targets. The squadron consists of four machines, with the other three planes being controlled by computer-aided intelligence in single-player mode. Multiplayer, on the other hand, allows for competition between two four-person teams.
Pilotage of jets in the game is strictly arcade character. As befits shooting, the player also has a large arsenal of weapons, including self-guiding missiles, machine guns and missiles. An interesting solution is the ability to activate micro-drons implanted in the pilot's brain, which allows you to temporarily "slow down" the passage of time.
From the technical side, HyperSonic 4 is based on Unreal Development Kit development tools available for free. The quality of textures and animation also clearly indicates the low-cost nature of production.
