Continuation of a mobile turn-based strategy embedded in the realities of science fiction, in which we are at the forefront of a group of tenants performing various contracts. This time our main opponent is a competitive team led by the mysterious Caius Black. Hunters 2 offers additional task types, additional enemies, an extended arsenal of weapons and armour, and improved graphics on a new engine.
Hunters 2 is a continuation of Hunters Episode One's mobile turn-based strategy from 2011, which is embedded in the realities of science fiction. The creators of the original from Rodeo Games studio, founded by experienced developers with ambitions to create a new quality in mobile games, are responsible for the creation of the title. Unlike the first installment of the series, which found its way to the two most popular mobile systems, Hunters 2 was released exclusively on the Apple iOS platform.
Story
The plot of the game is set in the world of the future, known from the original, where groups of mercenaries compete with each other, fighting for the most lucrative contracts. In the game we again lead one of them, and our main opponent is a team of experienced Hunters, led by the mysterious Caius Black. The game's role-playing campaign consists of a series of loosely linked missions, during which we discover new facts from Black's biography. The reward for our efforts is the ability to unlock and direct his character directly.
Mechanics
The mechanics of the game has not changed significantly, and the fun still comes down to the implementation of further contracts. Tasks are performed in turn-based mode and on a relatively small scale - each of them is embedded in a small location and involves at most several units. During the game we control a group of title Hunters and our task is to prepare the team for the next missions. For this purpose, we can choose from a wide range of over a hundred weapons, armour, equipment and special abilities. Thanks to this it is possible to create a team fully adapted to our style of play. As in the original, for performing particular tasks we are rewarded with points of experience, which can then be used to increase the effectiveness of our team. Compared to the first episode of the cycle, new locations appear in the game and the tasks are a bit more varied. All this is complemented by previously unavailable weapons and new types of enemies (e.g. aliens).
Game modes
Just like the original, Hunters 2 is dedicated to single player. However, the end of the campaign does not necessarily mean the end of the fun. The authors took care of a whole array of additional tasks, made available as part of daily updates.
Technical issues
Hunters 2 on the iOS platform is made in a similar style as its predecessor. The graphics of the game remained two-dimensional, and the action can be observed again in the classic view from above. At the same time, the game is based on a new graphic engine, which allowed for even greater detail of the binding and the addition of special effects absent in the original. The whole was designed from scratch for mobile devices, so the control system works well in practice.
