Petz is a series of light-hearted simulation games released by Ubisoft, which let you take in and look after a virtual pet. Each game focuses on different animal species, including dogs, cats, or even hamsters. Horsez on the other hand lets you look after a “slightly” bigger animal.
In the game you play as a young student of a horse riding school, and it is only you, who can help him turn into a real champion. However, a long road leads to that. Your adventure with horses starts form picking a pony from many available breeds. Note that each one has slightly different needs and abilities.
Once you have selected a pony, the real fun begins. You have to raise the young colt to a champion stallion. To this end, it is not enough to carefully look after the animal, but also plan a training program for it.
Soon, the colt turns into an adult horse. At this point, daily routine starts to include preparation for tournaments. After all, this is how you earn money and rewards, as well as raise the prestige of your school. You take part in various competitions: free riding, show jumping, and dressage - just to mention a few. These take place outside of your school, sometimes even in remote parts of the world.
The money you earn can be spent on various items, not only riding equipment but also jockey outfits. After all, such a noble sport deserves not only to skillfully manage practical challenges, but also to appear good.
