Hitman: The Trilogy is a set of three titles dealing with the fate of a paid assassin, Agent 47. The production of each of the titles fell to the Danish studio IO Interactive, which later also developed the fourth installment of its flagship series, Hitman: Blood Money.
The first component of the Trilogy is Hitman's third-person shootout: Codename 47. We play the role of a professional murderer and, according to the instructions of our clients, we travel around the globe to eliminate the victims. At first it seems to us that, as usual, we carry out the standard orders of our bosses, the great underground bosses. However, history turns out to be more twisted when we discover that we are part of a larger conspiracy, even rubbing against genetic research. As we carry out more and more tasks, we are slowly recalling the events of our past, knowing at the same time that we ourselves are the next target of a criminal organisation. More information about the game can be found here.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, the second element of the Trilogy, is a sequel to the great action game Hitman: Codename 47, where we again play the role of a paid murderer with a tattooed mysterious barcode in the back of the head. We have twenty-one more missions to complete, in which we must use the basic talents of the killer, i.e. the ability to observe and recognize the terrain, the ability to camouflage, disguise and "disappear into the crowd", sneaking and silent approach to the target, and obliterating traces behind us. As we do dark business, we move around the world, as evidenced by the fact that the action takes place in such diverse locations as Sicily, St. Petersburg, Malaysia, Japan and Nuristan. We have an arsenal of over 30 weapons to use, from knives and pistols to sniper rifles and explosives. Compared to the first part, new types of weapons and gadgets added to the killer (crossbows, poisoned arrows, deafening cartridges, and even chloroform) have been added. More information about the game can be found here.
Hitman: Contracts, the last of the games in the Trilogy, is the third installment of the famous saga that allows us to play the role of a paid murderer. This time the authors from the IO Interactive studio put a lot of emphasis during the production to make the fruit of their work much darker and more drastic than the two predecessors. This goal has been achieved thanks to numerous audio-visual treatments (improved three-dimensional graphic engine, using motion blur or light bloom effects), as well as a feature film that many criminal films would not be ashamed of. At the beginning of our hero's game we meet in one of the Paris hotels, with a shot wound. As a result of emaciation, high fever and the effects of various pain relieving drugs, Agent 47 haunts various visions from the past, and we take a physical part in them, observing all events like flashbacks. More information about the game can be found here.
