Hindsight 20/20: Wrath of the Raakshasa

Hindsight 20/20 is a 3D adventure game with action elements, in which the decisions made by players are very important. The game was created by the independent studio Triple-I-Games, which includes veterans with experience in productions such as Star Wars: Old Republic, Guild Wars and Sucker Punch.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in two cities with different rules. Idyllic Champaner and threatening Gibsonia, whose sheriff is responsible for the protagonist's father's death. Players assume the role of a hero trying to save his hometown from the tyranny of Gibsonia. In such problematic circumstances, will you break the rules of a place that avoids violence and start to murder our enemies ruthlessly? Will you agree with them and instead only deafen them? This and other moral choices await us in Hindsight 20/20, where most of them have a bittersweet taste and influence the attitude of the city towards us, the fate of the town and the ending.

Mechanics

Hindsight 20/20 is a game set to be completed several times with the ability to mend the choices made during the previous playhroughs, which can lead players to one of the seven endings available in the game. A single playthrough takes about 6 hours.

Hindsight 20/20 is also an action-oriented game, in which players face many opponents and it depends on one's preferences how we deal with them. There are two options. One of them is to use a sword to kill. This involves a hack-and-slash combat with combos. The second approach, in turn, is more pacifist, because the weapon players use is a stick with a stun rod that does not kill, but only stuns enemies. This makes them feel more confident and more aggressive towards the protagonist. Each of the paths one can take involves the use of unique skills.

In addition to the usual opponents, players are bound to encounter powerful bosses. Their attitude towards the protagonist also varies according to the choices one has made. They can be aggressive in advance, only defend their honour, and even beg for mercy. Each playthrough allows the player to see different nuances in the behavior of a given boss.

Technical aspects

The world presented in Hindsight 20/20 in style refers to cartoons for the younger audience, where we observe the world from behind our hero's back.
