In Highway Patrol 2 player will play the role of a traffic police officer, whose task is to prosecute criminals attacking petrol stations. The program was produced by Microids and has several interesting features not found in other car races.
We start our career as a law enforcement officer by choosing the offender we want to prosecute. Each of them is determined by a certain amount of money (from two to ten thousand dollars). This translates into a level of difficulty. The more a "worthy" criminal, the more you have to ride to catch him. After arranging the formalities, we get behind the wheel of our car. Following the instructions given at the top of the screen, you should get the offender, pull out the weapon at the right moment and shoot the delicatessen. Of course, the offender does not remain indebted, moreover, he moves quite efficiently on desert roads and changes his place of residence quickly. As during the game, the amount we get for the shot is always deducted, it is absolutely necessary to hurry up.
Quite an interesting idea of car chases, unfortunately it is poorly translated into the execution of the game. The driving model is simply macabre and you need a lot of training to get into the corners quickly and efficiently. An additional disadvantage is that every contact with an obstacle causes the car to be rejected and, consequently, the loss of orientation. The same is true of a collision between two cars. The advantages of the game include a good audio-visual setting (only the monotony of the desert landscape is striking) and interesting accessories, such as the possibility of activating a police siren, which works as a horror. To sum up, Highway Patrol 2 may like it, although you have to spend a lot of time manoeuvring on tight roads.
