Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic is a sequel to an adventure point-and-click puzzle game, Hidden Through Time. Both games were developed by an independent studio Rogueside, also responsible for the warmly received series Guns, Gore & Cannoli and Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef.
Mechanics
The gameplay of Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic doesn't differ much from the previous installment. Together with Clicky, the game's main character, players visit four magical eras, tasked with finding objects on hand-drawn stages. Some are placed in plain sight, but others are scrupulously hidden. The player must look into every chest, closer, car, tree branch and many other places to find the missing items.
A new feature is reality warping, that is, changing the time of day or the season. This is useful, as some items can only be found in specific conditions, such as in the snow or after dark.
Game modes
Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic is a singleplayer game with no multiplayer. The game's main attraction is its narrated campaign.
There's also an additional Architect Mode, a level editor making its return from the first game, now significantly expanded, allowing sharing stages with other players.
Technical aspects
Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic features simple 2D visuals. The game retains the artstyle of its predecessors, though the stages this time are more vivid.
