Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter is a sequel to the casual adventure game with hidden objects, Demon Hunter: Chronicles from Beyond, which was released in 2014 as the debut project of a Serbian studio called Brave Giant. The said production is available for PC, WP and etc., among other platforms. One of its world publishers and distributors is the Polish company Artifex Mundi yet again.
Plot
The action of Demon Hunter 2 takes place twenty years after the events of the original. Despite the fact that the heroine, Dawn Harlock, had stopped the demon Ragnar from taking control of the world, it wasn’t the end of her dark adventures and mysteries. When her foster father, professor Ashmore, dies while fighting his old enemy who was trying to break into our world again, the protagonist discovers that she is the only living member of the ancient order of Demon Hunters and the only person who can put up a fight against the enemy who is now stronger than ever.
Mechanics
Mechanics-wise, Demon Hunter 2 doesn’t deviate from its predecessor and the typical solutions of HOPA (Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure) adventure games. In the course of the gameplay, we visit 31 varied locations with numerous puzzles to solve that bring us closer to the climax of the story and the final defeat of the demon. Contrary to classical adventure games, the fun is enriched with a lot of scenes with hidden objects and new mini-games that require great perceptiveness and the ability to think logically.
Technical aspects
Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter for PC, WP and etc. is characterized by colorful hand-drawn graphics which are typical to HOPA productions. The gameplay is made more pleasant by an atmospheric soundtrack and an intuitive interface which can be controlled with both a computer mouse and touchscreens of mobile devices.
