Hero's Song is a fantasy action RPG. This is the debut game of Pixelmage Games, founded mainly by former Daybreak employees (formerly known as Sony Online Entertainment). The main designer was John Smedley, the man who played a key role in creating the majority of the Everquest series.
Story
The game does not have an extensive script, but at the same time, the plot itself plays an important role in Hero's Song. That is why the American fantasy writer Patrick Rothfuss, the author of the novel series The Kingkiller Chronicle, was involved in the preparation of the lore. What is interesting, the players themselves shape the lands they visits here - the universe is generated randomly at each start of the game. We choose for ourselves which deities exist in this reality and these decisions dramatically influence the world's past, population, race, geopolitical situation and culture.
Mechanics
Hero's Song remains true to the traditions of the action RPG genre. We spend most of our time exploring the world, fighting enemies and developing our characters. Before we start playing, you must first create our hero by choosing their race and class. Spellcasting professions can use spells and techniques belonging to ten vastly different schools of magic. There are also crafting mechanics.
The combat system is highly arcade and offers a high level of difficulty. Survival requires careful planning, efficient use of the hero's various skills and objects, and the ability to adapt quickly to the tactics of enemies.
Game modes
The game offers a single-player mode, in which we choose the missions to complete ourselves, and the ultimate goal is to find a way to join the ranks of deities, which may require the murder of some of them. There is also an online mode, which enables us to share our own version of the world with other players, in which we have a lot of freedom in choosing the rules governing our server.
