Turn-based 4X strategy game set in fantasy world, with RPG and roguelike features. It is an improved version of Hero Generations, and both titles have been produced by Heart Shaped Games. The story of Hero Generations: ReGen takes place in classic fantasy world, with the players’ task being guiding their characters and help them their fulfill ambition of going down in history.

Hero Generations: ReGen, released on AND, PC and iOS, is a turn-based fantasy strategy game enriched with RPG roguelike elements. The production is an expanded and improved remake of Hero Generations from 2011. Both titles were developed by Heart Shaped Games studio.

Mechanics

ReGen is set in a classic fantasy land. The players' task is to direct the career of a hero who wants to become part of the history of the world. However, human life is very short and after several dozen rounds it will always come to an end. Therefore, it is necessary not only to be successful but also to take care of the offspring, who will then continue the work of their ancestors - otherwise, the hero's death will end the game.

Hero Generations: ReGen is played in a turn-based system, where each turn corresponds to one year of the hero's life. While playing, the player explores the procedurally generated world and completes tasks. The fast aging of the hero forces us to make difficult decisions. It is necessary to find the right balance between adventures and the development of our city and the success of one character and taking care of a good start of their descendants.

We can fight monsters, discover new territories, accumulate gold and wealth (which we will pass on to heirs), gain fame by finding legendary artifacts and kill bosses, but also invest in the development of our city by erecting buildings and researching new technologies.

The fun is diversified by special random events, which happen every hundred years, significantly changing the balance of power. Such events include cataclysms, an awakening of the race of ancient monsters or establishing the first contact with distant civilizations.
