Antihero is a turn-based strategy for PC, iOS and AND set in Victorian age. It has been developed by Tim Conkling.
Gameplay and plot
The game takes us to a slightly grotesque version of British town, inspired by Charles Dickens’ novels. The vision of metropolis is far from optimistic, though all of its dirt, corruption and poverty are shown with a tongue-in-cheek. We play as a leader of a small thieves’ guild and are given the task of developing our organization and filling up our vault with gold. Creators give us a lot of freedom in choosing our way of building the criminal empire. We can act cautiously and limit the use of violence, making blackmailing and trickery our main weapons. On the other hand, it is possible to turn our guild into an assassin’s guild, eliminating our opponents once and for all.
Mechanics of expanding gang’s territory play key role in game. We have to recruit orphans, train them into agent, and then send them on missions, like stick-ups, mugging and assassinations. To achieve success, we must also infiltrate banks, factories and other influential institutions. Naturally, developers have not forgotten about economic aspect in form of balancing our income and expenses of developing a guild, like researching new technology or building useful structures.
Game modes
Antihero for PC, iOS and AND offers both a single player campaign and multiplayer mode. Interestingly, the game allows cross-platform multiplayer.
