HERO: The Flood Rescue is an arcade simulator in which we direct a rescue unit to help flood victims. During the game, the player can control a variety of character classes and uses a wide range of specialized equipment, including a helicopter and fire truck.

Technical aspects

HERO: Flood Rescue combines elements of arcade game and rescue simulator. The game allows you to become a member of a flood-fighting rescue unit. The project was developed by the Polish studio SimFabric, known for ElectriX: Electro Mechanic, Cthulhu: Books of Ancients or Polish Farm 2020 .

Mechanics

The game attempts to realistically show the work of teams fighting the consequences of the flood. Our task is to save as many people as possible, and at the same time to minimize material losses.

In HERO: Flood Rescue, we can lead a paramedic, a helicopter pilot, a medic, a commando, and even a rescue dog. Each of these character classes offers different mechanics and challenges. The game requires us to manually perform the actions assigned to the roles, e.g. as a firefighter we have to break windows and doors with an axe to get inside the houses and check if there are no people who need help.

During the game, we can use a variety of equipment. For example, a dinghy will allow us to reach flooded areas, and a pump installed in a fire truck will be useful for draining water from flooded areas. The helicopter, on the other hand, will make it possible to transport the victim to the local hospital, and during such actions it is necessary to operate such elements as ropes, lifebuoys or a special rescue basket.

Technical aspects

HERO: Flood Rescue offers full 3D graphics. Most of the time we observe events from a first person perspective. The game, however, turns into a TPP view when driving a vehicle, helicopter or dinghy.
