Hell Is Others

Mechanics

In Hell is Others the action is presented in a top-down view. The key element of the gameplay is the bloody expeditions through Century City, during which we engage in dynamic battles with enemies by shooting, dodging and hiding behind cover. Two types of enemies stand in our way. The Things, mysterious adversaries of unknown origin, and The Others, people like the protagonist (and therefore characters controlled by other players). While it's up to us to decide whether we want to keep the Others alive or try to put them down, we must remember that the point of every trip out onto the streets of Century City is to draw as much blood as possible. As we are also the source of this blood, we must constantly be on our guard to ensure we don't fall victim to one of the other players.

Each such trip is limited by time; we must be in our flat before the countdown ends. The blood we gain can be exchanged in a special bank for cash, for which we buy new pieces of equipment for our base. In addition, it serves us to water the plants in our collection, in return for which they will grow bullets, which not only act as ammunition for our weapons, but can also serve as currency in some of the shops scattered around the city. Then there is nothing left for us to do but wait for the next time we hit the streets. Complicating matters is the fact that the layout of the city changes each time we cross the threshold of our flat. This means that we can never feel safe in Century City.
