Heathen: The Sons of the Law

Heathen is a low-profile project of an independent team known as Frog Factory that bases on The Island of Dr. Moreau, a science-fiction novel by H.G. Wells. Interestingly enough, Heathen is a multiplayer-only title that offers a cooperative first person shooter/role playing experience.

Plot

The action of Heathen takes place on a lone island inhabited by strange human-animal hybrids created by Dr. Moreau – a scientist who’s engaged in vivisection and genetic experiments. After the death of its benefactor, the forgotten island has been rediscovered and taken over by two individuals – Peary, a scientist and a biologist, and Scott, a rich entrepreneur. The duo continues the research, seeing the beast folk as a potential source of cheap labor. Twenty years later, the island has become a powerful empire, with hundreds of hybrids in top physical condition. Unfortunately, the realm has succumbed to the inevitable – humans lost control over the monsters, and are forced to retreat to a small outpost in the northern part of the island.
