Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F, released on PS3 and PSV, is the fifth game in a series of music-arcade games produced by SEGA starring various Japanese virtual vocalists like Hatsune Miku. Their digital voices have been made available in professional music programs - thanks to them, fans around the world have created thousands of popular songs from dozens of music genres. Several dozen of these songs are featured in the games from the series.
Mechanics
The PlayStation 3 edition is an extended port of the original, which was released in 2012 on the PS Vita. The gameplay does not differ significantly from what was offered by the portable console version, but for obvious reasons, the gameplay elements that used Vita's touchscreen were removed. In return, the developers introduced new options, songs, costumes, and slightly improved graphics design.
The production offers many game modes and countless options for editing the appearance of characters, which are unlocked as we progress. During the game, players must feel the rhythm of the music and then press the buttons displayed on the screen at the right moment. Sometimes, we have to hold one of them for a long time, releasing the finger at the right moment. Although the controls seem to be extremely simple, at high difficulty levels, the game requires a great deal of coordination and dexterity.
Besides Hatsune Miku, other virtual singers, such as MEIKO, Kagamine Rin and Megurine Luka are also featured in DIVA F. Players can tap the appropriate button combinations to the rhythm of songs such as "Cat Food", "Nostalogic", "Weekender Girl" and "Freely Tomorrow".
Technical aspects
For the first time in the series, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F can be played in HD resolutions. Character models and their costumes can boast more details and animations than ever before. The video clips accompanying each song also make a positive impression.
