Release Date: January 15, 2025
Steam
A combination of a farming simulator and a strategy. In Harvest Hills our character starts their own farm after leaving the city. We plant the crops, breed farm animals and create products which we can sell on the market. All the money we've earned can be used to expand our farm.
Harvest Hills is a production on the border of strategy games and farming simulators. It was developed by the independent studio Red Beans, in whose portfolio we can find the platformer titled Adventure Light.
Gameplay
In Harvest Hills we see the action from a bird's eye view. We take on the role of a character who leaves city life and moves to the countryside to pursue their passion, which is farming.
We start our adventure modestly, cultivating a small field on the farm and planting the first vegetables and fruits. Over time this begins to change, as we gain larger areas of land, and the range of available plants expands.
This is not the end, because the game also allows us to breed farm animals (such as chickens, cows and sheep, which repay our care with eggs, milk and wool), as well as to engage in beekeeping (producing honey).
We can process the fruits of our labor on the farm, producing various goods from them. We need special machines for this, which allow us to craft things like tomato sauce, juice or cheese. We sell finished products, as well as surplus crops, at the market, thus gaining money for further development of the farm. Additionally, we unlock new objects and products by performing daily duties and special additional tasks.
Graphics
The graphic design of Harvest Hills was maintained in the low poly style (it was based on a relatively small number of polygons).
