Guns of Icarus is the first game produced by the independent Muse Games studio. The idea of the creators was to combine arcade shooting, time management strategy and action game with a plot set in the realities of the steampunk universe.
The main character of Guns of Icarus is a young lieutenant Gabriel. As captain of the title airship, Icarus, he travels through a dangerous skies, travelling between scattered cities, performing missions and transporting various types of cargo.
The basis of the game is to steer the aircraft and fight against heavenly bandits. During the clashes, the player controls the actions of the main hero, who has to fire from defensive towers and repair the damaged parts of the airship in real time. Shooting sequences resemble games of the "target sight" type. Money gained through missions and cargo transportation allows for zeppelin upgrades, including the purchase of new weapons and armour.
In addition to the possibility of one-person fun, the creators have also provided the option of playing in cooperation mode for up to four players. From the technical side, the game is based on the capabilities of the popular Unity 3D engine. It offers good quality three-dimensional graphics with relatively low hardware requirements.
