A steampunk action game with elements of "target sight" shooting and time management strategy. The player takes on the role of Lieutenant Gabriel, who travels a dangerous sky on board the Icarus airship. The title was produced by the Muse Games studio in New York.

Guns of Icarus is the first game produced by the independent Muse Games studio. The idea of the creators was to combine arcade shooting, time management strategy and action game with a plot set in the realities of the steampunk universe.

The main character of Guns of Icarus is a young lieutenant Gabriel. As captain of the title airship, Icarus, he travels through a dangerous skies, travelling between scattered cities, performing missions and transporting various types of cargo.

The basis of the game is to steer the aircraft and fight against heavenly bandits. During the clashes, the player controls the actions of the main hero, who has to fire from defensive towers and repair the damaged parts of the airship in real time. Shooting sequences resemble games of the "target sight" type. Money gained through missions and cargo transportation allows for zeppelin upgrades, including the purchase of new weapons and armour.
