Grow: Song of the Evertree

Grow: Song of the Evertree is an adventure game that allows us to create and travel through various worlds. The game was developed by Australian studio Prideful Sloth, while its release was handled by 505 Games.

Plot

Grow: Song of the Evertree takes us on a journey to a fantastic world called Alaria. Its centre is the eternal tree - Evertree - on whose branches various lands grow. Or at least it was so, until this impressive plant started to die, and only a vague memory of its former splendour remained. Not everything is lost, however, because at this point the main character enters the scene - the last representative of the family of alchemists Everheart, whose task is to cultivate and protect the eternal tree. Our goal is to restore it to its former glory and discover what secrets may hide the worlds that, thanks to us, will grow again on its branches.

Mechanics

In Grow: Song of the Evertree we observe the action from a third person perspective (TPP). The core of the game is learning alchemy, which is an art that allows the protagonist to create the seeds of the world and thus - to generate diverse and unique lands. Our protagonist brings to life picturesque meadows, sun-scorched deserts, snow-covered and icy mountains. Each of these worlds is a "sandbox" that we can freely explore at our own pace.

While exploring them, we can engage in various activities - from collecting stones and flowers, through fishing and catching worms, to discovering caves, solving puzzles and investigating various secrets. Moreover, during the game we meet various characters, many of whom have interesting stories to tell and offer tasks to perform. In addition, the game gives us a wide range of buildings that we can construct in cities, adapting them to individual preferences.

Technical aspects

Grow: Song of the Evertree has a colorful graphic design maintained in a pleasant to the eye, cartoon style. The game is accompanied by the soundtrack composed by Kevin Penkin, whose portfolio includes the music for Florence.
