An exploratory adventure game, prepared as a psychological horror. In Greed Stays Home we end up in a workers village from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The protagonist is searching for lost treasures and he also has to deal with a dark entity responsible for bringing the dead back to life.
Greed Stays Home is an exploratory adventure game, maintained in the style of a psychological horror. It was developed by the independent studio Yellow Basement Games, which has a similar genre project Befriended Curse in its portfolio.
Story
The story told in the game Greed Stays Home revolves around the stolen wealth of an aristocratic family from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Although the consequence was the conviction of the alleged perpetrator (who ultimately turned out to be innocent), the family never managed to recover from it.
To make matters worse, after these events, disturbing incidents began to occur in the nearby worker village. It started with disappearances, which eventually led to the place being abandoned by almost all residents.
During the game, we play the role of a historian searching for treasures. His passion leads him to the aforementioned village. He decides to search it, hoping to find something more than an old boot, rusty coins and other worthless items.
Gameplay
In Greed Stays Home we view events from a first-person perspective (FPP). During the game, we wander around a village shrouded in fog and darkness, meticulously searching house after house.
We have only a camera and a shovel at our disposal. In the settlement, there are still a few people with different attitudes towards us. Moreover, we quickly realize that there is a foul, sinister force at work here, through which the dead begin to walk among the living, and a terrifying apparition lurks in the darkness.
The game was designed in such a way that its completion would be a task for just over an hour.
Graphics
A filter was applied in Greed Stays Home to make this game resemble recordings from old cameras.
