Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising

Mechanics

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising revolves around one-on-one duels in a variety of arenas. The game offers a wide range of characters, all diverse in terms of their combat style, attacks and special abilities. All the playable characters from the first game make their return here, and there is a number of newcomers as well; this applies to arenas as well.

The game introduces some new mechanics, primarily Ultimate Skills, and modifies some returning mechanics, such as Plus Skills. It also introduces a new lobby, represented by one of the islands; as our selected character (from the third person perspective) we can freely run, jump and discover the area's secrets.

Game modes

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising supports both singleplayer and multiplayer, both local and online. The game also supports cross-platform play.

There are also several multiplayer modes known as Grand Bruise Legends, reminiscent of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Rising Royale is a race, during which we avoid obstacles and use items to tip the scales in our favor, while Gold Brick Hoarder has us collecting gold bricks and delivering them to our team's storage before the time runs out.

Technical aspects

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising runs on Unreal Engine 4. The visuals, once again, make use of the manga artstyle known from the original. The game improves on various aspects, however, such as shading.
