Fire & Darkness is a big paid expansion for the looter slasher released in 2020 titled Godfall. The add-on was developed by the authors of the original, the Counterplay Games studio, and debuted in the company of a free update called Lightbringer.
Plot
In Godfall: Fire & Darkness players find themselves in the land of fire to face the darkness that threatens all of Aperion. Their task is to face the sinister Moirax leading the Flameblood Tribe.
Mechanics
Godfall: Fire & Darkness brings a number of new story missions and cutscenes presenting the new story. Besides, the add-on introduces previously unavailable locations such as obsidian peaks or magma fields, five previously unseen bosses and ten additional enemies. In addition, twenty armor skins were prepared for the expansion.
The free update, along with which the described DLC appeared, introduces a new game mode. In Lightbringer mode we face three waves of enemies. Between each battle we choose curses, which weaken our character, but make that when we manage to achieve victory, better rewards will be waiting for us. In addition, the update introduces forty new items to obtain, and also allows us to test the matchmaking system.
Technical aspects
Fire & Darkness does not introduce changes in the audiovisual layer of the basic version of Godfall. It is not a stand-alone add-on, so it requires a main game to work.
