Go Home Annie Description
Go Home Annie is a first-person adventure game based on creepypastas set in the SCP universe. The development was handled by a small Croatian studio Misfit Village.
Plot
The game is set in the SCP universe – a fictional foundation that secures and stores anomalous objects and entities and protects the general public from them. The action of Go Home Annie takes place in the Zumberak Mountains region, in Croatia. Shrouded in conspiracy theories, the Replication Department is presented under the guise of a military base. Strange sounds coming from the depths of nearby forests and alleged sightings of paranormal entities are a daily occurrence.
As the titular Annie, a low-level employee of the SCP Foundation, our job is to repeatedly test replicas of dangerous paranormal phenomena and anomalous entities. Exploring the Replication Department building, we discover its secrets.
To understand the plot of Go Home Annie no knowledge of SCP universe is required.
Gameplay
In Go Home Annie we explore a mysterious and dangerous research facility and interact with strange anomalies. We get to encounter strange things, including a pill that, after swallowing, grows 40 million bananas from the stomach, or deadly plastic flamingos. We also conduct a conversation with a bathtub with two personalities.
As with other horrors with paranormal phenomena like The Stairway 7 or Shift 87, we use anomalies to solve logical puzzles and navigate through levels.
Engine and graphics
Go Home Annie runs on the Unity engine. The visual style of the main facility in the game combines steampunk with 1970s technology.
