Glory To The Heroes is the debut project of a small studio from Ukraine called Spacedev Games. This simulation game focuses on realism. It offers multiplayer gameplay in PvPvE mode, as well as a single-player story campaign. The creators want to allocate part of the earnings from the game sales to support the Ukrainian army. They want to block access to the product for people of Russian and Belarusian nationality at the same time.

Historical realities

Glory To The Heroes takes us to the front of the Ukrainian-Russian war that started in 2022, where the intensive use of artillery is accompanied by new technologies in the form of unmanned aerial vehicles. The action takes place in authentic battle locations, recreated using photogrammetry. In PvPvE matches, each map is used to tell a story about what happened on a specific day and how the battle unfolded. Skirmishes are conducted in such a way as to simulate the scale of real war battles.

Gameplay

The multiplayer mode is based on cooperation between players by performing assigned tasks. These, in turn, depend on mutually complementary roles, such as assault soldier, artilleryman, driver or drone operator. Micro-management of resources also comes into play - we can build fortifications or take care of ammunition and fuel.

In Glory To The Heroes battlefields are becoming more and more destroyed, and players can build covers using sandbags, as well as create trenches and anti-tank and anti-drone obstacles. Realism is also added by the unpredictable dysfunctionality of weapons, the negative effects of exhaustion, thirst and even hand fatigue. Severe injuries must be treated by a medic, while minor ones can be managed with a bandage or pressure kit.

Each soldier has a real-time tactical map UI, inspired by the Ukrainian tactical software "Delta" and "Kropyva". Players can use maps for navigation, placing custom landmarks, and measuring distances for artillery fire.
