A multiplayer-focused joke arcade game created by Boneloaf, an indie studio from the Great Britain. More precisely, this is an unusual brawler, in which character physics plays a key role. You control colorful little men whose animations are procedurally generated as you play. The gameplay focuses on melee combat, including punching, kicking, throwing your opponents off ledges or pushing them into traps.

Gang Beasts for PC and PS4 is an amusing and very unusual multiplayer fighting game with strong emphasis on the character movement physics. The production was developed by the Boneloaf studio from Great Britain and was released with the help of the Double Fine company, as part of their indie developer support program – Double Fine Presents.

In Gang Beasts on PC and PS4 the player takes control of quite grotesque characters, which could resemble colorful jelly beans to some players. Our goal in the game is to compete with the other players and throw them off of various platforms or shove them into traps deployed in multiple locations on most levels. This seemingly simple task can prove to be quite the challenge, as the overdone character movement physics can make controlling our fighter incredibly tricky. The skirmishes take place in multiple locations, e.g. a sparring ring, a theme park, a factory or a shopping centre. The range of available attacks features various punches, kicks, holds, shoves and throws; the player can also use the environment to his advantage, through elements such as scaffolds and speeding trucks.

The gameplay is strictly focused around the multiplayer mode, offering, e.g. a LAN multiplayer mode. The battles in Gang Beasts can take the form of quick duels, as well as entire tournaments with players divided into teams or competing in a free-for-all. The developers have also prepared a single player and a sandbox mode for those who prefer to play on their own.
