Viking Frontiers Description
Viking Frontiers is a game bordering between RPG and survival titles, enriched with strategic elements. The game was developed by the Polish studio BLUM Entertainment, whose portfolio includes such projects as Builders of Greece and the thematically related Gimle: The Broken Prophecy.
Plot
In Viking Frontiers we play the role of a Viking who finds himself in an unknown land. His task is to gather the remnants of his clan and start building a new home, which will eventually become a thriving settlement. It's up to us how his fate will unfold - he can follow the path of a hunter, become a farmer and devote himself to cultivating the land, or even take on the duties of a priest.
Gameplay
In Viking Frontiers we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game provides us with a vast, open world that we can freely explore. Given that our primary goal is survival, we must constantly bear in mind the necessity of obtaining food, the main source of which is hunting or farming. We can also do it ourselves, starting from sowing, ending with harvesting crops. The game offers numerous quests that push the plot forward, as well as side missions that are waiting to be completed. Moreover, from time to time we have to participate in various random events.
Crafting
A key element of Viking Frontiers is gathering the resources necessary to use a complex crafting system. Thanks to it, we can produce various types of tools (such as pickaxes, axes, hammers or sickles), as well as weapons (like spears or bows). Weapons serve us both for hunting the local game, and for defense against predators or Christian fanatics.
In addition, we need wood or stone to build various buildings, furniture and other objects. Although the buildings we initially construct are not particularly impressive and there aren't many of them, this begins to change over time.
As we progress, we are joined by other settlers, thanks to whom our camp gradually grows, turning into a real village. Given that the residents have needs and are aware of their rights, we must remember the necessity of providing them with decent living conditions.
