Hearthstone: March of the Lich King

Hearthstone: March of the Lich King is the next expansion for the popular Hearthstone game being developed by Blizzard Entertainment studio. The add-on enriches the basic title with, among other things, 203 new cards, the keyword Manathirst or minions belonging to the Undead type. The game allows you to learn the fate of the once noble paladin Arthas Menethil. The plot prologue shows his downfall and transformation into the Lich King.

Gameplay mechanics

A new character class, the Death Knight, made its debut in March of the Lich King. He has a unique solution, thanks to which the death of a friendly party, provides him with a Corpse, a new resource used, for example, to strengthen cards. The special power of the profession is to summon a Ghoul Charge, which disintegrates at the end of the player's turn.

Building a Death Knight deck depends on Runes of Blood, Frost and Unholy - a new mechanic presented in the expansion. It involves choosing three of them in any configuration (they can be of the same type or single of each), which affects the pool of available cards. Blood Runes focus on affecting health (e.g., Corpse Explosion), Frost on frost damage (Frost Strike), and Unholy give you control over an army of undead (Battlefield Necromancer). The Death Knight has sixty-eight class cards, including thirty-two base cards.

March of the Lich King brings back the Reborn keyword, guaranteeing that a party will come back to life as soon as they die. Manathirst also makes its debut in the expansion, allowing us to activate additional powers as long as we meet the requirement of a sufficient number of mana crystals. However, it does not consume our resources.

The key novelty is a new type of minions - Undead. Some of the cards known from the basic version of the game and other expansions have been updated. Some have been given dual status.
