Table Manners Description
Table Manners is a humorous arcade dating simulator, in which success depends on the efficiency of our hands. The game was created by Echo Chamber Games and published by Curve Digital.
Plot
The time has come when being single is no longer cool and we feel the lack of our other half. Everyone knows that the best way to find it is through dating websites, so this is where we start. We set up a profile, find a candidate that matches our preferences and we can start a remote interview. We can flirt, joke and conduct stupid conversations, the aim of which is to win the sympathy of the other party so that they can be invited on a date. If, however, we lose interest in our interlocutor, just swipe right and go hunting again.
Mechanics
In Table Manners, apart from chatting with a potential partner, we must first of all positively end the date we go on together. This is hard, as our hands are not fully compatible with what we want to do and controling them requires a lot of effort from us. This theme can be associated with games such as Surgeon Simulator. Here, too, we observe the game from first-person perspective.
While on a date we can go to restaurants serving food from different parts of the world. We can choose Japanese restaurants where we can taste sushi or other seafood dishes, Italian restaurants serving pasta, pizza and good wine, American pubs where we can taste juicy steaks and hamburgers or restaurants focused on vegetarian dishes serving salads and vegetable creams. Each of the places is associated with different difficulties such as skillful cutting of steak and fish, getting a dish on a fork or foaming the soup.
However, we always have to take care of the atmosphere. Dating is supposed to be a prelude to something more, that's why a lighted candle and a fancy drinks are the way to go. Provided that we do not set the whole table on fire when lighting the candle wick or and pour the alcohol on our companion's head or clothes. Then, unfortunately, we can say goodbye to a common vision of the past, and the search will have to start again from the beginning.
If that isn't enough, our rendez-vous takes place in places that make our task even more difficult. We can go on a date to one of the restaurants located on a rocking boat and even spend the evening in 0 gravity.
Technical aspects
Table Manners is a fully three-dimensional game with humorous graphic style and a soundtrack highlighting the comedy aspects.
