Life & Death is a simulation game by The Software Toolworks, in which the player plays the role of a surgeon. The correct diagnosis will determine whether the patient will be placed on the operating table or at the morgue.

From time to time, there are titles in the gaming industry which, despite the most honest willingness of reviewers, are not subject to any encryption. These are usually very original products, based on a non-standard idea. This group of programs includes Life & Death by The Software Toolworks, in which the player will play the role of a surgeon. The correct diagnosis will determine whether the patient will be placed on the operating table or at the morgue.

We start our doctor's career in one of the American hospitals. After the mandatory registration, we immediately start to act, i.e. diagnose patients. After a superficial examination, we grasp the disease card and decide what to do next. If we suspect a simple bacterial infection, we prescribe medicines, in other cases we use stronger arguments, e.g. X-rays. If further diagnoses prove to be unsuccessful for the patient, we proceed with a proper operation. Surgery is the key and undoubtedly the most addictive element of the game. It would be a mistake, however, to think that it is limited to cutting the patient without order and composition. All steps must be carried out in a specific order, otherwise the patient, before we approach him with a scalpel, will find his way to the morgue.
