Pokemon Omega Ruby Description
Pokemon Omega Ruby is another entry in one of the most popular game series in history. Unlike the previous year’s Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, it isn’t a completely new title, but a remake of classic Pokemon Ruby, which has been released for Game Boy Advanced. The original appeared in 2003 alongside Pokemon Sapphire, as Pokemon Ruby has been paired with Pokemon Alpha Sapphire in 2014. All of those titles were developed by Game Freak studio, which created the entire franchise.
Plot
Pokemon Omega Ruby for 3DS follows the usual story of a rookie pokemon trainer, who fights his way through countless battles to become the best trainer in the world. There is also an evil organization of Team Magma that tries to use the ancient power in their schemes, which can throw the world into chaos.
Game mechanics
Just like the original game, Pokemon Omega Ruby doesn’t introduce many novelties compared to the second generation of the series. However, there are numerous features that were introduced in over ten years that had passed between the releases of both games. Developers from Game Freak offered the same region called Hoenn, with new places and pokemon species, including Fairy types introduced in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. As usual, some creatures can only be caught in Pokemon Omega Ruby or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, encouraging players to trade with each other to complete their collection. There are also powerful legendary pokemon, including the cover of this game – Groudon. What’s more, a few creatures received their own Mega Evolution – temporary transformations that greatly raise their battle potential. Groudon itself obtained the power of Primal Reversion.
Aside from that, Pokemon Omega Ruby brings other features introduced in previous games from the series, like the ability to raise pokemon affection, new methods of evolving creatures into new forms and some changes to battle mechanics.
Technical aspects
One of the most noteworthy novelties in Pokemon Omega Ruby is a new engine, firstly used in Pokemon Y and Pokemon X. Two-dimensional sprites have been replaced by 3D locations and models. Pokemon have been given a completely new life, with both idle and attacking animations.
