Furi

Furi is a dynamic action game with combat system based on Japanese hack-and-slash games like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. The title was released on PC, PS4 and etc. by The Game Bakers, studio which created Squids series and the mobile fighting game Combo Crew.

Plot

Furi takes place in unordinary fantasy world filled with mysterious creatures and unorthodox architecture. The player assumes the role of a warrior who tries to escape from a giant prison. However, there are guards standing on his way to freedom. He must defeat them in order to obtain their keys.

At the beginning of the campaign the player receives only small pieces of information about the world and the protagonist. Yet during the game, he gradually uncovers new pieces which reveal the whole story.

Mechanics

The protagonist fights mostly with sword and guns. The combat system is fully action-based and it offers large variety of attacks that can be combined into combos. Between the fights player can explore the area. During these sections one learns the story of the world and can obtain valuable hints which allow revealing enemy’s weaknesses.

What’s interesting, the players never fight more than one opponent simultaneously in Furi for PC, PS4 and etc. – all encounters are fought one on one. Every opponent is a separate character with unique look, combat style and abilities that equal the ones of the protagonist. The campaign consists of a long series of boss fights.

Technical aspects

In Furi for PC, PS4 and etc., the visuals are very interesting. The developers designed the game in such way that each encountered guard is a unique character. The design of enemies was created by Takashi Okazaki, the creator of Afro Samurai series. The audio layer of the game was created by the artists of the French electro scene. Among them there was Carpenter Brut.
