A multiplayer-oriented action game set in space, developed by the creators of Strike Suit Zero series, Edge Case Games Studio. Its story is set in the distant future, in which humanity has colonized many foreign star systems. The game doesn’t offer much of a backstory though, focusing on online skirmishes for teams of up to five players.
Fractured Space for PC is a fighting game created specifically for the purpose of multiplayer skirmishes. The project has been developed by the Edge Case Games studio, made out of the core of the team responsible for two installments of the Strike Suit Zero space shooter series. The production features a free-to-play business model with optional microtransactions.
The action of the game is set in the distant future, in times when humanity has colonized countless systems. The storyline does not play a major role in the title, and is only a pretext for the multiplayer battles. Fractured Space allows us to take part in online skirmishes, in which two teams of up to five players each battle each other to prove their superiority. Every user controls a single, massive ship, which belongs to one of the six available class types and is equipped with numerous on-board systems, as well as an entire arsenal of weapons. The vessels are mighty and extremely tough; however, on their own they do not stand a chance against an organized assault, which is why cooperation is an essential step on the way to victory.
Furthermore, each cruiser is the mothership for an armada of smaller machines, which we control in a way similar to strategy games. We begin our fun with Fractured Space on PC with only several vessels, but give it time and their numbers will grow until we have entire swarms at our command. It is up to the player to customize each ship; the numerous options include: the company responsible for its creation, the class, weaponry and subsystems. With time we upgrade our smaller frigates, as well as our main battleship.
The gameplay is enhanced by the MMO elements. The players can create alliances and wage war with different factions, and the outcomes of battles determine the direction in which the situation of the entire universe is heading.
