Fracked

Fracked is a spectacular action game, developed from scratch with virtual reality sets in mind. The game was created by nDreams, which has in its portfolio such positions as Shooty Fruity, The Assembly or Phantom: Covert Ops. Among the sources of inspiration for this project, the authors mention such films as Die Hard and Robocop.

Plot

Fracked takes us to a technological facility located high in the mountains. The place is taken over by an army of the Fracked - armed to the teeth lunatics, able to travel between dimensions and possessing a hive mind. The hero you play is the only one who can face them, and the last hope for the world.

Mechanics

In Fracked the action is observed from a first person perspective (FPP). Extremely dynamic and impressive gameplay focuses mainly on eliminating hordes of enemies. During battles we have to hide behind covers and to have eyes around our heads, because adversaries often try to attack from above, flank, and overtake us from behind. Exploration is also spectacular in Fracked. We travel through levels not only on foot, but also on skis, climbing, or doing crazier things like parachute jumping. Sometimes during these activities we are attacked by enemies, which intensifies the fast-paced action.

What makes this game different from most other titles of this type is the fact that during the game we constantly have full control over the protagonist. Moving our head, we look around, and using the motion controllers, we reload weapons, climb over terrain obstacles and control our character while skiing.

Technical aspects

Fracked requires both VR goggles and dedicated motion controllers to work. The colourful graphics of the game were made in cel-shading technique.
