FoxTail Description
FoxTail is a classic point-and-click adventure game from Gingertips. The team is a small developer who debuts with this project. The company consists of only three people responsible for the whole development process. They are: Nataliya Radina (sound), Artem Vodorez (artist) and Sergey Belov (programmer).
Story
During the game, we get to know the fate of a young fox named Leah. She embarks on a journey to find a cure for her gravely ill grandmother. However, this is only the beginning, because during the journey the heroine helps various creatures she meets and discovers the mysterious past of her grandmother.
Mechanics
FoxTail is a title that tries to reproduce the best adventures games from the mid-1990s. The developers took inspiration from classics such as King's Quest and Monkey Island. The game itself is not too complicated, because the gameplay consists of visiting various locations (such as the forests, swamps, mines, and mountains), where we have to look for interesting objects, talk to NPCs and solve puzzles. However, these are quite complex and need some thinking. Interestingly, the goal can be achieved not only in one fixed way, because the game has been designed to offer different ways of overcoming problems.
Technical aspects
It's not just the gameplay that brings older games to mind. Gingertips also tried to refer to old times in terms of visuals. FoxTail is a climatic, two-dimensional game created using the pixel art technique.
