For Liberty! is a turn based 18th century strategy game based on a upgraded game engine from the game 1848. Command the armies of the newly born United States or the British Empire during the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783). As an added bonus, fight in Hungary, as either Rakoczi's poorly equipped rebels or the Austrians during the War of Spanish Succession, from 1703 to 1711.

Both theaters have a huge and attractive map that will change as the seasons go by. Control 16 different unit types from 5 different nations included, all portrayed in authentic uniforms. You do not have to go through hundreds of tiny counters in this game – all units are large, animated figures. There is no need to study your troops for hours, a quick glance will update you on the situation.

A simple interface and a detailed tutorial ensures that you can learn to play the game in about one hour. If you want, you can even play all the battles on a randomly generated tactical map. Each generated map is unique and will mirror the terrain type where the battle takes place. The strategic and tactical parts of the game use the very same interface, enabling you to concentrate on winning the war and not fighting with the interface.

If you wish, you can also choose to focus only on the grand strategy and let the computer resolve the tactical battles.

Your troops can do many things: attack, recon, retreat, train, rest, pillage, siege enemy forts, fortify strategic locations. You are responsible for paying and supplying your soldiers. Political decisions and foreign aid are simulated by an influence system that you can use to change your overall situation. You can use your influence to recruit temporary militia units, insurgent regiments, or Indian (native American) warriors that can augment your force.

Your naval fleet can be used to transport your troops to hard to reach locations where you can surprise the enemy or deliver devastating offshore bombardments.

In For Liberty! battlefield realism is a priority. If you do not lead your troops efficiently, they may run from the battlefield at the sound of the first shots. March with tired soldiers into battle, and you will find that they are slow and ineffective.

Orders of battle were thoroughly researched in For Liberty! and all regiments have their proper historical names, locations and commanders for each campaign.

8 long campaigns (4 per theater) and 3 multiplayer modes will keep you occupied for a long time.

The shot heard around the world has been fired, now its your turn to either lead your fledgling nation against the worlds most powerful and professional army as the Americans or put down the upstart colonials once and for all!

Fight for independence, fight for freedom, fight For Liberty!
