Foamstars Description
Foamstars is a multiplayer shooter reminiscent of the popular Splatoon series by Nintendo. It was developed and published by Square Enix.
Mechanics
Foamstars makes use of the third-person perspective (TPP). The game revolves around 4v4 arena combat. Players have many different skills and weapons to choose from; rifles, rocket/grenade launchers and shotguns all shoot foam which can be used in various ways.
Other than serving as ammunition, it can also be used as material to build various structures, such as barricades or vantage points (from which we can safely snipe enemies) or cover surfaces and slide on it to move faster. Combat is extremely dynamic, with the battlefield constantly changing due to the omnipresent foam, making each battle different than the last.
Game modes
Foamstars only supports multiplayer.
Technical aspects
Foamstars makes use of a colorful, cartoonish artstyle. The foam mechanics deserve a separate mention, as it can realistically burst and cover the map. The game's soundtrack is catchy, pleasant and lighthearted.
