The King of Demons attacked a beginner samurai, who under the guidance of a very experienced master was learning about the philosophy of life and the technique of wielding the sword. Because the young man had no idea how to use magic, which was necessary to face the danger, his mentor set off to fight the demon. Unfortunately, he was unable to defeat the enemy and after a long skirmish he fell to the ground with a fatal wound. Shortly before leaving the world, he called for the help of a mighty magician, who once and for all could get rid of the demon. The hellish opponent, seeing such a turn of events, moved in time....
In the Vivid Image product the player will play the role of the title samurai, who witnessed the death of his master. Using the magician's magician's magic power, he will explore four periods of time, and thus four worlds, where he will face all the traps prepared by the enemy. At the end of the murderous expedition awaits, of course, the King of Demons, whose extermination is the main aim of the game.
At first glance First Samurai resembles a traditional platformer. Use the cursor keys to jump, climb up vertical walls and exterminate enemies with a rich array of fist strokes and kicks. Only after a while it turns out that the game has much more to offer. After obtaining a sufficient amount of magical energy (gained through the annihilation of enemies), the samurai will receive a mystical sword. With its help the fight will be much easier. In addition, the weapon has special properties to release power and use items found here and there. The latter are mainly useful for overcoming the traps set by the demon. Although the game places the greatest emphasis on survival in difficult conditions, there is no shortage of logical puzzles. It is only up to the ingenuity of the player to overcome all adversities and eventually get the killer of his master.
First Samurai is characterized by a pleasant low resolution visuals and decent sound. The program initially seems chaotic (many functions are available from the beginning of the game), but it is relatively easy to master the basic rules of the game and gain experience in overcoming various obstacles.
