Fields of Mistria Description
Fields of Mistria is a combination of an RPG and an agricultural simulator. The game was prepared by an American indie company NPC Studio, drawing inspiration from titles such as Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon series. The main aspects of gameplay are role-playing, as well as getting to know and romancing encountered characters, and experiencing magical adventures.
Plot
The game takes us to the titular village - once a picturesque place located between the forest and the sea. Mistria seems to have its best times behind it. Its streets suffered as a result of the earthquake, and mysterious forces began to haunt the neighborhood. In the game, we take on the role of a new resident who offers their help in exchange for the opportunity to join the village community.
Gameplay
Fields of Mistria is a sandbox production with a top-down view. We can create our own alter ego, personalize our home, and gradually develop our farm. We deal with a day and night system in the game, as well as changes in the seasons, which affect both the appearance of the village and local festivals or available quests.
During the game we breed and reproduce animals, also looking for a way to obtain unusual color of their offspring. Using numerous tools (shovel, hoe, watering can, etc.) we dig up the garden and take care of the cultivation of vegetables or fruits. We also rely on magic, with the help of which we can accelerate the growth of plants. In our free time, we fish, extract minerals, engage in crafting items or preparing meals. The game also allows us to equip the protagonist with combat gear, and then set off to conquer the secret ruins. In the underground, we encounter puzzles or enemies, and dealing with them is rewarded with precious treasures.
Over thirty NPCs are waiting for us in the town of Mistria, whom we can befriend, in return getting to know their unique stories. We will also start romances with some of them (there are twelve characters to choose from), and even start families. We can develop all relationships regardless of the protagonist's gender chosen at the beginning of the game.
Visuals
Fields of Mistria is a two-dimensional game with colorful pixel art graphics. The design refers to classic works from the 1990s.
