Farming Simulator 17: Platinum Edition Description
Farming Simulator 17: Platinum Edition is an expansion for Farming Simulator 17 released in 2016. The game, available on PC, PS4 and XONE, has all the features that are available in the original game with all add-ons but the developers also added a few new things.
The game can be purchased in a few ways. Those, who have the original game on PC Windows can buy Platinum Expansion which enhances the basic version to Platinum Edition. This DLC can also be bought on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – it is also available in Season Pass. Of course, new players can simply buy Farming Simulator 17: Platinum Edition – both in digital and physical form.
Mechanics
Farming Simulator 17: Platinum Edition's biggest gimmick is that it is set in South America, a location that wasn't available before. With the location comes interesting scenery as well as unique plants, the option to grow sugar cane or have new species of cows that weren't available in the previous games. Besides that the developers also added additional machines. One of them is CASE IH A8800 MR combine, which is used for collecting the previously mentioned sugar canes. Besides the machines created by CASE IH Autosoft we also get those made by Stara, Double TT, Bizon and Gessner Industries. This means that when we add all machines from Farming Simulator 17 we can choose from more than 270 types of machines and gadgets from 80 companies.
Other elements remained the same, which means that we can upgrade our vehicles both in appearance and their performance. Also, we can now lease machines. Large-size goods are transported by using freight trains that make their debut in the series.
The game also has a few smaller new features which influences the gameplay. The developers created a more complicated system of soil fertilization and cows' performance now depends on type of feed. Players can now have a bigger impact on shaping economy on a map – they can determine prices for each of the goods. There is also an option to get additional money by completing orders from other AI farmers.
