Road vehicle simulator 2012 is a simulation game produced by the German Lightrock Entertainment studio. The player has the opportunity to try their hand at the wheel of various cars, including special vehicles (bus, radio, ambulance, trailer and others), driving on the roads of three virtual metropolises and their surroundings.

The Road Vehicle Simulator 2012 is an extension of the ideas from Fahr-Simulator 2009, released in 2008. Developers from the Lightrock Entertainment studio primarily decided to increase the number and variety of available vehicles, as well as to significantly expand the environment of virtual metropolises.

As in the original, players have the opportunity to test their driving skills in virtual traffic. The 2012 Road Vehicle Simulator offers three metropolitan areas with surrounding areas, which provides a relatively dense network of road connections of a wide variety of character (motorways, urban streets, unpaved roads, etc.).

The range of vehicles available ranges from standard passenger cars (e.g. limousines, vans, suvas) to special-purpose vehicles, including radio, ambulances, buses, caravans and even motorhomes. The latter introduce additional tasks to the game, such as access to the accident site, the need to transport patients quickly or parking on crowded camping grounds.

The driving model used in the Road Vehicle Simulator 2012 takes into account the basic physical properties. The different vehicle models also differ in parameters such as maximum speed, acceleration, grip and manoeuvrability. However, the developers decided to simplify the control system so that even inexperienced simulation enthusiasts can cope with the game.

The visual setting of the Road Vehicle Simulator 2012 does not differ in quality from previous productions of Lightrock Entertainment studio (Driving Simulator 2011, Tow Truck Simulator). What deserves attention is the possibility to choose the mode of operation of the camera (e.g. from the driver's seat or from behind the car) and the implementation of basic rules applicable to road traffic (e.g. speed limits, traffic lights, priority of passage).
