The next installment in a series of Formula One racing simulators developed by Codemasters. The game was designed in response to the players' feedback received after the release of the previous installment. As usual, F1 2016 features the official F1 license, thus the player takes control of the digital representations of real-life cars and competes against the drivers actually racing in F1 on authentic, faithfully recreated circuits.

F1 2016 Description
F1 2016 for PC, PS4 and XONE is the eighth installment in a series of licensed racing games allowing to take part in Formula One competitions. As usual, the game was created by Codemasters – a British developer popular mainly for such franchises as Colin McRae Rally, DiRT, Race Driver, or Micro Machines. The fans of the F1 series took part in production of the game themselves, for the creators asked for their opinions after the release of the previous installment – F1 2015. The game utilizes the same engine the predecessor was powered by, introducing completely new game modes, as well as minor changes to the mechanics instead.
Mechanics
The game features Formula One's full license. Thus the player controls virtual representations of real-existing cars and races on the tracks included in the season 2016. One track is completely new however, it is located in Baku, Azerbaijan. The current arrangement of teams is also at the player's disposal here - the creators did not forget about this year's debut of the American Haas F1 Team.
In the carrier mode, the player begins with creating their avatar and choosing a team. The teams differ both in their aims and expectations towards the player-controlled driver. For winning and beating records on tracks, the player receives points which can be spent on subsequent upgrades for different parts of the car. A special, hub-like location was added to the game this time. The player can talk to key members of the team here, such as engineers or mechanics, ordering them to work on new technical projects for example. F1 2016 is the first game in the series to feature testing sessions, which can be attended before the actual competition. Those allow to get familiar with particular tracks and develop a strategy, but also to earn points for car upgrades.
Game modes
Apart from the carrier mode, F1 2016 for PC, PS4 and XONE offers single Grand-Prix races, single seasons and time trials. Also, multiplayer competitions were included.
