Exoprimal Description
Exoprimal is a multiplayer shooter by Capcom, in which we face hordes of bloodthirsty dinosaurs.
Plot
Exoprimal is set in the near future. In 2040, Earth was attacked by dinosaurs, swarms of which are destroying cities all over the world. Not all is yet lost, as a mighty corporation Albius faces off against the invaders. They've developed Leviathan, an advanced AI capable of predicting the reptiles' next targets, and created powerful exoskeletons that turn their users into killing machines. We play as exofighters - soldiers fighting against the invaders.
Mechanics
Exoprimal is a third-person shooter. It features a wide roster of exoskeletons, which all differ in terms of appearance, weaponry and combat skills. They include assault models, such as the melee Zephyr and the ranged Deadeye, tanks such as the shield-equipped Roadblock and supports, such as the healing Witchdoctor. Armors can be changed on the fly, letting us adapt to the situation on the battlefield and respond to our team's needs.
Players take part in missions, complete objectives and battle hordes of enemies. We'll face swarms of smaller, grounded and aerial dinosaurs (which serve as cannon fodder), and powerful bosses, such as the T-Rex.
Game modes
Exoprimal only supports singleplayer. The basic game mode - Dino Survival - creatively combines co-operation with competition. Two five-person teams share the same objectives, but they compete over which manages to complete them first. Mission objectives change based on matters such as the players' skill levels.
Technical aspects
The visuals of Exoprimal are decent. Though far from Capcom's best work, the detailed exoskeletons and realistically animated dinosaurs are all still rather appealing.
