The creativity of Russian author Nikolay Vasilievich Gogol is well-known all over the world. Many people remember how smith Vakula flew to Saint-Petersburg on a devil; how Homa Brut confronted the master of evil spirits, Vii; a witch and mermaids from May night, or drowned woman. In Gogol's stories reality and magic go hand in hand; the clerk and village constable mix with sorcerers and werewolves. Against this background, near the Ukrainian small village of 18th century Dikanka, the action of game develops.

The protagonist of the game - rural smith Vakula - is enamored with Oksana, the first beauty of Dikanka. But Oksana presents an apparently impossible requirement: she wants Vacula to bring her shoes that the tsarina wears. Vakula’s adventures begin when the habitual rural life suddenly turns magical.

In the game, Vakula has to communicate with a former cossack and nowadays rural sorcerer Patsyuk. Patsyuk becomes a guide for the hero through the magic world - the world where miracles and habitual fancifully intertwine. Vakula learns with great surprise that sorcerers, witches and vampires can appear among the rural girls and young men. And it is only the beginning...

The script of the project Evenings on a farm near Dikanka is guided by Gogol’s unique style of household fantasy . Gradually the game turns from a household fairytale into magic. Adventures wait for you in the village Dikanka, in a magic forest and in the court of the empress in Saint-Petersburg. You will meet characters from Gogol's stories and national fairytales, plunge into the beautiful love passions of its heroes, and take part in amusing Gogol-esque dialogues.
